Did you know the world's largest corn maze is right here in Northern California? Cool Patch Pumpkins, a 63-acre property in Dixon, California has pumpkin patches and hayrides. But their claim to fame is that they have created what was once thought impossible: The World’s Largest Corn Maze!
According to Matt Cooley who founded this family business with his children back in 2001 while selling pumpkins on side of their patch just as a hobby - love for his kids blossomed into an international famous Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze covered by several platforms such as news stations or websites along with Guinness Book Of Records.
The Dixon Corn Maze is a popular nickname for it. It is massive and covered an area of 20 acres, which equates to roughly 1/4 mile on each side if it were completely square. In 2014 the labyrinth took up 40 more acres than before, covering 60 total! Cool Patch grows numerous different types of pumpkins, gourds, and maize as well as other seasonal produce items like tomatoes or squash depending on what's ripe at that time. The cool patch family has always wanted to provide customers with a fantastic experience every season so they can pick out their own harvest goods right from the land where they are grown.
This year's world record corn maze pays tribute to the men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to serve our country. The entrance fee is $18 per person and children under the age of five are admitted free of charge. In addition, hayrides, pedal vehicles, and even a corn bath can be enjoyed by visitors.
Cool Patch Pumpkins is a family-oriented business that values faith, fun, and education. They hold Pumpkin Land events for children of all ages to celebrate the start of the fall season. Now they also collaborate with churches and schools by offering informative field trips to educate kids in an interactive way!
They teamed together with Kristina Wiley DDS this year to assist their local first responders and their community work! You can view their Scarecrow Fields as you go around the plaza, thanks to local businesses!
